:: Tudo igual, mas um pouco diferente!
O Panorama Internacional Coisa de Cinema chega a sua 13ª edição com o formato consolidado e já esperado por um público sedento pelas novidades do cinema independente. Mas nós não deixaremos de nos renovar.
A mais significativa dessas mudanças é que o Panorama vai dedicar a competição nacional aos primeiros longas de uma nova geração que chega com muita força e precisa ser apresentada ao público. Filmes de diretores que, via de regra, passaram pelo festival em edições anteriores com seus curtas e que chamam atenção pela solidez e inteligência de seus filmes.
Na Competitiva Nacional – Curtas, continuamos a misturar estreantes e veteranos. O formato curto é imenso e cada vez mais vital para oxigenar a nossa cinematografia. O curta-metragem é a renovação por excelência. Incrível ver cineastas que voltam ao curta para experimentar novos desafios – como se fossem estreantes!
Fora da competição, a mostra Panorama Brasil ganha em potência ao exibir filmes que passaram por grandes festivais ou trazem a marca de diretores já consolidados no cenário mundial. Como uma vitrine da produção nacional, traremos filmes aguardados que prometem debates acalorados em sessões lotadas.
Seguindo os passos do ano anterior, a competição baiana cresce nessa edição. Pressionados por uma produção cada vez mais intensa e diversa, exibiremos mais de vinte filme, entre longas e curtas. Aos poucos, o cinema baiano volta a ocupar o cenário nacional e o Panorama saúda essa crescente presença.
Saudamos também a experiência singular e cada vez mais distante de assistir uma projeção em 35mm. Escolhemos exibir alguns filmes da mostra Clássicos do Cinema neste formato histórico. Perceba, caro expectador, o grão da película e escute o barulhinho do projetor!
E por falar em película, o XIII Panorama resgata o trabalho de Renato Fróes, que desenhou e montou manualmente os anúncios de filmes para os jornais de Salvador ao longo de quase 40 anos. Verdadeiro artesão, fez tudo com extrema dedicação e paixão. Parte de sua obra estará reunida em uma exposição no foyer do Espaço Itaú de Cinema – Glauber Rocha, que é a sede do nosso festival.
Outro homenageado desta edição é o notável ator Paulo José, que estará presente na sessão de “Todos os Paulos do Mundo”, filme-homenagem realizado com muito amor por Rodrigo de Oliveira e Gustavo Ribeiro.
Teremos ainda uma sessão especial dedicada aos 40 anos da “Lumbra Cinematográfica”, com filmes dos cineastas Póla Ribeiro, José Araripe Jr, Edgard Navarro e Fernando Bélens. É tempo de ver ou rever curtas essenciais da nossa cinematografia!
Lembraremos também a passagem de Geraldo Moraes, Guido Araújo e Luiz Paulino. Fica a saudade, os ensinamentos e o nosso reconhecimentos a essas pessoas que muito realizaram pelo Cinema. A eles, dedicamos este XIII Panorama!
Por fim, reiteramos o nosso lema maior: “O Cinema no Centro”. No centro das nossas vidas e das nossas cidades. Salvador e Cachoeira contam com belíssimos cinemas em seus centros históricos. Com muita alegria, nós vamos ocupar esses cinemas de RUA e ver milhares de pessoas caminhando pelas calçadas dos nossos Centros Históricos.
Agradecemos à Secretaria de Cultura do Estado da Bahia, através do Fundo de Cultura, por nos dar a tranqüilidade de programar mais três edições do Panorama. Graças ao “Edital Calendarizado”, que é uma das mais inteligentes ações de política cultural já estabelecida. Agradecemos também a Petrobras, a mais importante empresa brasileira, que não pode jamais perder de vista a sua relevância para a cultura nacional.

:: All the same, but a little different!
Panorama reaches its thirteenth edition with a format consolidated and already awaited by the audience fans, who are thirsty for the news of the independent Brazilian and world cinema. However, we will not stop renewing ourselves and bringing news.
The most outstanding news about Panorama is the national competition of the first films of a new generation that comes up with great force and needs to be exhibited to the public. Movies of filmmakers who, as a rule, went through the festival in previous editions with their short films and that draw attention to the solidity and intelligence of their outcomes.
About the short films, we continue to mix rookies with veterans. The short format is immense and increasingly vital to oxygenate our cinematography. The short film is the renovation, par excellence. It’s amazing to see filmmakers returning to the short film to experience new challenges. As if they were newcomers!
Panorama Brazil wins in power by showing films that have gone through major festivals or bring the brand of directors already consolidated on the Global Scenario. Panorama Brazil brings up long expected films and promises heated debates in crowded sessions.
The Bahian Competition is following in the footsteps of the previous year. Pressured by a growing and more diverse production, we will show more than twenty films, between long and short films. Gradually, the Bahian cinema returns to occupy the national scene with an increasing quantitative.
For the classics, we draw attention to 35mm films! Not all, but many of them. Sense, dear spectator, the grain of the film and listen to the projector’s noise! We’re getting more and more distant from the 35mm experience, but do not get lost!
Speaking of film, this year’s Panorama revivers the work of Renato Fróes (1922-2014), who designed and mounted commercials for the films that would appear on the newspapers of Salvador for approximately 40 years. True craftsman, he did everything with extreme dedication and passion. We will hold an exhibition in the foyer of the Itaú Cinema Space – Glauber Rocha, which is the headquarters of the festival.
Panorama of this year honors the remarkable actor PAULO JOSÉ, who will be in the session of “All Paulos of the World”, a film-tribute performed with great love by Rodrigo de Oliveira and Gustavo Ribeiro.
On the other hand, we will remember the passage of Geraldo Moraes, Guido Araújo and Luiz Paulino. We will be longing the teachings and the recognition of people who have done much for the movies. For them, we dedicate the festival this year!
We will also have a special session dedicated to the 40 years of the “Lumbra Cinematográfica”, with films by the filmmakers Póla Ribeiro, José Araripe Jr, Edgard Navarro and Fernando Bélens. Time to see or review essential short films of our cinematography!
Finally, we reiterate here our motto, “Cinema in Downtown”. At the center of our lives and our cities. Salvador and Cachoeira have beautiful cinemas in their historical centers. With great joy, we are going to fill these STREET cinemas and see thousands of people walking the sidewalks of our Historic Centers
Thanks to the Secretary of Culture of the State of Bahia, through the Fund of Culture, for giving us the tranquility to schedule three more editions ahead of Panorama. Thanks to the “Scheduled Edict”, which is one of the most intelligent cultural policy actions ever established. We also thank Petrobras, the most important Brazilian company, which can never lose sight of its relevance to the national culture.
